Anger Management Program Emu Park
Question: Do I have a problem with my anger?
If someone close to you is concerned about your behaviour or, worse still, your partner threatens to leave you the next time you ‘lose it’… OR…if your job is on the line because you’ve ‘gone off’ once too often…OR… if you’ve been charged with an anger-related offence and are now facing court, chances are you could do with help managing your Anger. It is a powerful emotion that will destroy your relationships if you do nothing. ACT NOW. Protect your relationships by managing your Anger safely…
Question: What if I don’t think I’m an angry person?
You may not see yourself that way, but if others do, there’s a problem. Although anger is a perfectly normal human emotion that we all experience from time to time, most of us are never taught how to manage our behaviour safely when under its powerful influence. Just because you become angry, doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person – it just makes you human. Trouble is, if you’re ‘losing it’ a little too often and scaring people, your behaviour could be holding you back from achieving all that you desire in life.

Question: Will an Anger Management Program help me?
Good question. What if you thought of Anger as your ever-present watchdog whose job it is to alert you to situations that are in some way threatening or upsetting for you? Anything could set your dog off i.e., kids not doing as they’re told; car not starting; losing your keys; getting cut off in traffic, arguing with a loved one, or getting told off by the boss. You may not realise it at the time, but ‘losing your cool’ too often can have serious consequences for you and your relationships. Learning new ways to express feelings without harming yourself or others puts you in a better position to get your needs met and protect key relationships.

Question: Will this program help with my relationship?
Relationships are not always rosy. You may love your partner deeply, but there will be times when you become frustrated or angry at them, or at something happening outside the relationship. How you choose to behave and express Anger will either enhance or destroy the trust in your relationship. Loss of trust slowly weakens your connection, and if it happens often enough, it finally breaks beyond repair. Trying to supress Anger only makes it worse. The Anger Management Program teaches you how and when to express your emotions without damaging your relationship. You will learn to be ‘true to yourself’ and ask for what you need whilst still being honest with your partner about the cause of your Anger. Sharing your inner most feelings and needs with your partner is a bonding experience…it strengthens your connection, even though it may feel uncomfortable at the time.
Question: Do you offer Parenting or DV programs?
In addition to the Anger Management Program we also offer the following:
- Parenting After Separation Program – Children don’t need perfect parents – but they do need safe parents. Northern Frontiers Mediation & Counselling offers a standalone 4 session program that helps you keep your children feeling safe, regardless of their age. Letter of Completions can be provided upon request. This program can be completed as a 2 session ‘add-on’ program if completed in conjunction with the Anger Management Program.
- Domestic Violence DV Awareness Program – The Northern Frontiers Mediation & Counselling DV program focuses on the nature and impact of family violence on individuals, relationships, children, workplaces and extended family members. The program is a 4 session program, or a 2 session ‘add-on’ program if you complete the Anger Management Program also.
If you are currently going through separation or divorce, Northern Frontiers Mediation also provides a fully-accrediated, Australia-wide Parenting Mediation and Property Mediation service. Click here to enquire or discuss your situation.
